INPS is governed primarily and legally by its Charter (read it here). The Charter sets out how the association is structured and operates at a basic level, including membership, events, the General Meeting and the Executive Committee.
The Charter follows the Society Registration Act 1860 for Societies, which can be found in Central Act under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and in accordance with the Articles 372 of the Constitution of India. The INPS Charter was adopted by the GBM in June 2025 online.
INPS is also governed by its Regulations (read them here). The Regulations are an internal set of rules which supplement the Charter. They are more specific and detailed, and easier to update.
In addition to the Charter and Regulations, the members of INPS have adopted a few other documents to govern the association in more specific areas:
Code of Conduct regulates the conduct of its members to ensure their safety and good relations. It outlines conduct that is forbidden to members and what should be done in case it is broken. It mainly concerns behavior at our events, but also covers subjects such as academic integrity. Last updated by the GBM June 2025 held online, it can be found here.
All INPS members may access documents related to an INPS General Meeting. For access to them contact tc-india@iaps.info.
If you have some old documents or photos of previous events that might be of interest to other INPS members, particularly if they go back several years, please don’t hesitate to contact tc-india@iaps.info.
