Local Committee Delhi (LC Delhi) was established in September 2023 as part of the Territorial Committee India under the International Association of Physics Students (IAPS). Since its formation, LC Delhi has actively worked to build a strong and engaged physics student community in the Delhi region. We have successfully organized key events such as the School Day outreach program, the Physics Symposium, and the Academic Exchange and Student Conference on Advancements in Physics (AESCAP). These initiatives have created valuable opportunities for students to learn, collaborate, and engage with physics beyond the classroom. LC Delhi continues to grow and expand its activities, aiming to provide even more platforms for knowledge sharing, networking, and professional development for physics enthusiasts across India.
The Academic Exchange and Student Conference on Advancements in Physics (AESCAP) was successfully organized by the Local Committee Delhi of the Territorial Committee India, under the International Association of Physics Students (IAPS), from April 9 to 12, 2025. Co-hosted by Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology (GTBIT) and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College (DDUC) in Delhi, this event marked India’s first-ever student-led international physics conference and was officially registered as part of UNESCO’s International Year of Quantum (IYQ 2025). Bringing together over 150 students and professionals from countries including India, Iran, Nepal, and Malaysia, AESCAP offered a diverse platform for academic collaboration and innovation. The four-day program featured keynote talks by distinguished speakers, student research presentations, hands-on quantum computing workshops, and engaging panel discussions, notably addressing pressing issues such as climate change and gender equity in STEM. Cultural and social activities, including excursions and interactive sessions, fostered a vibrant exchange beyond academic discourse. The event was a significant milestone in nurturing a new generation of physicists, promoting international cooperation, and celebrating a century of quantum advancements.
