The Indian Network of Physics Students was established in August 2020. It is also the Territorial Committee of India within the International Association of Physics Students (IAPS). Initially, we began our journey as the Association of Indian Physics Students. Following with the evolving times and sensing a need for rebranding to rejuvenate the community, we adopted our new name, logo, charter and related documents w.e.f. 1 July 2025.
During this period, we worked towards the first ever Indian edition of the Indian Young Physicists' League in 2021. This also serves as the preliminary selection of the Indian team for PLANCKS.
We have expanded to include more individual members and committees of LC Delhi and LC Udupi. The school day events have really evolved over the years and are now the flagship outreach event.
The IYPL now serves as the main competitive event and fun social events with networking opportunities to meet physics students across the nation.
The committees in Delhi and Noida also started with their student conferences, as well as initiating lecture series for upskilling the members and introducing them to the various opportunities in education, academia, industry, etc.
As INPS, we also foster continued engagement with our alumni, resulting in regular meets with alumni who connect with and help the current undergrads and masters students by sharing their experience.
