The President provides strategic leadership and ensures the effective governance and operation of the organization and its Executive Committee (EC).
Leadership and Governance
Meeting Chairmanship: Directs the preparations for and presides over all Executive Committee (EC) and General Meetings.
Decision Making: Holds a key vote in EC decisions, which require a simple majority including the President to pass.
Internal Coordination: Ensures effective communication and coordination between the EC, working committees, and the general membership.
Delegation of Authority: May delegate presidential powers or assign tasks to other EC members with the agreement of the EC.
Strategic Direction and External Relations
Strategic Planning: Leads the development of the organization's strategic plan.
External Relations: Manages the organization's external relationships in coordination with the Outreach Manager.
Official Liaison: Serves as the primary point of contact for the IAPS EC.
Fundraising and Contracts
Fundraising: In collaboration with the Treasurer and Outreach Manager, negotiates and finalizes deals to raise funds for outreach projects and events, adhering to the organization's policies and contract guidelines.
Official Signatory: Acts as the final co-signatory, along with the relevant EC member, on all official agreements and documents with external organizations.
Administrative Duties
Agenda Setting: In coordination with the Secretary, sets the provisional agenda for EC meetings. The agenda is shared at least one week prior, and EC members may add items no later than three days before the meeting.
